Calling occupants of Planet 3, System X7

Before I get started, I know this is strictly a day late due to medical news, and apologies, but hopefully most wanted to know that news. Strictly, there is no concrete evidence that this happened 72 years ago, but given that someone believes I’m of alien origin (I wish), and that would be the obvious way my relatives arrived on this planet… Seriously, if anyone wants to buy me, or design for me a really good alien costume, then… 😉

(7 July 2019)

Greetings, inhabitants of Planet 3, System X7,

As some of you believe, and we arent actually denying, on this day, 72 years ago, one of our spaceships was forced to land on your tiny planet. We found a suitable landing place near Roswell, New Mexico, and if our pilot had managed to land as planned, we would have used the needed services, then in good time, return to our home planet, in, well, you wouldnt be able to find us if we told you!

But no, in his enthusiasm to get to that strange substance you call beer, he made a bit of a mess of the landing, damaged the ship a bit, and before we could finish repairs, some of your people turned up to check on us. Most helpful they were too, taking us to some site where we could complete repairs far easier than where we’d landed. In exchange, we gave them a guided tour of the ship, explained how once repaired, we’d soon get it flying at 10 times the speed of light yet again, and we would then accelerate away from there.

They invited some of us to stay behind, take in the whole ‘Earth’ experience. As we discovered, they were more interested in what we could do, but we only ever let them know the basics, and no more. When the Captain confirmed that a ship could soon come and collect us as needed, some of us decided to give it a go, after they offered to provide some humans for crew, and experiments, in return.

Some stayed a few Earth years before making the call home to be collected, but others of us decided to settle. Its not difficult, our cloaking devices are several thousand years ahead of anything you might have, (That camouflage you use on military vehicles, seriously?) so…

Yes, one of us born on your quaint planet is actually helping to write this, though I gather she now so despairs of you, she’s requested a transfer back to her ‘natural’ planet, says much for you Earthlings! She says someone has seen through her disguise, though we have no idea how. She also seems to have developed a few health problems which we can quickly cure.

Its amusing how advanced you think you are nowadays, and granted, compared to 1947, you are, though much of that is down to us.  But compared to us, well… stone age, darlings!

So, given we need to send a large spaceship to collect one passenger, we’re making a one time offer to join us, far out in the Milky Way. There are a few physical adjustments we’d need to make to you, health checks permitting (some of you even enjoying anal probing, I’ve heard?) to live on your new home, but otherwise…

Just one warning, for those who might be considering it, your new home believes in all sorts of equalities. Oh, and we’re all bisexual, just saying… 😉 But if you fancy that life, reply to this missive, and well, who knows?

I gather I need to add something called a music video. Some think a group called The Carpenters created this song, but they are wrong. A group with a suitably alien name, Klaatu actually did so. Checks census lists…ah, that explains it! This is a video of their short 2011 single version of the song. Its not hard to find the longer version, either by them, or the Carpenters on You Tube, if you prefer, though only the latter has actual humans performing in it.

What is their future?

Right, I’ll make the offer loud and clear, and see if anyone will take me up on it. I am off work this week, and I hereby pledge to fill the usual blog spaces for you. Given that I’m not planning on anything more than a relaxing week until Friday (more on that Thursday) other than treatments, I’ve got the time to do more blogs. But if you want them to appear, I need some suitable subject matter, thats all. No UK/Europe politics, but other than that…? No, I dont expect to hear from anyone, but I can hope. stephmajor8@hotmail.com for emails will be fine, if you dont want to join on here.

What struck me on Friday morning, and to a lesser degree, yesterday morning, was the number of children under 5 on the buses I caught. One woman had 3, of different ages, all under 5, or they should have been at school!

And yes, I wondered what their life will be, when they reach my age? What will their retirement age be by then, for starters? Expected life span was about 71 when I was a child, and now its 81! Pretty certain my body isnt going to last to 81, but some of us have to live less than average, lol! But will it be 90 in 60 years time, or more, or less, or…?

Look at phones nowadays, and move them on another 60 years. Back then, you had to book an international call about a week in advance, and you paid a fortune, and were limited to a few minutes, and no more. Now (and I have) I can speak to the West Coast of America, on a whim for the US, and it doesnt cost a fortune, even if you have to pay for it. Yes, I dialled a freephone number, and got connected to the US, crazy stuff.

Oh, and because of where we’re heading with the video, when I was born, no man had flown in space, it was a year after I was born that it first happened. Satellites were just about to be launched for the first time, so watching pictures, as we do now, from the other side of the world, live…wow! Hey, it was such a novelty that one adult worker included the novelty of a satellite in her outfit

space suit

Yes, Sputnik, the first Soviet satellite. And before you ask, would I wear that helmet, of course I would! I would say the full outfit, but I am 60, so if anyone wants to create it for me…?

I’m not even going to try and comprehend what will be the novelty item 60 years from now! One thing is for sure, I wont be around to find out! Will someone be experiencing a past life regression then, and finding me? Interesting thought!

One thing is for sure, there is no way we could even vaguely imagine what life will be on Earth in 2080, so I’m not even going to try. You can assume there will be bases on the Moon, and Mars, and maybe more? Will they look back on our movies, and be amused by how retro they are? Oh, and will they be able to transform humans into robots? 😉

Right, video time. This may look very basic now, but in 1962, this was cutting edge music. Oh, and of course, it also relates to a different satellite! Oh, and at the grand old age of 4, I bought this single!

Lets spend the night together?

No, just long enough to read the blog will be fine, really. Mind, on the day that was Marion Davies’s birthday (she would have been 122 today), if anyone really wants to be my William Randolph Hearst, then contact me. I wont expect to get crushed in the rush, mind, but more on that later.

Today, seemingly, as is the want with trending days for everything, is seemingly ‘Festival Of Sleep Day’. Actually, a rare event, one I approve of, totally! Mainly because at this time of year, when the weather gets freezing cold, my back starts to object to things, like moving, and other technical needs. And yes, sleeping in a warm (or warmer) bed is something that my back approves of, as opposed to moving around in freezing cold weather. So yes, at times like this, hibernation sounds like a heavenly concept to an old crock like me. Even more so at the moment, because all my treatments have been messed up by the Holiday season, meaning I’m now over 5 weeks since Physiotherapy (normally every 4 weeks), and have to try and survive to next Tuesday before the back can be worked on. I’m even over 2 weeks since any kind of treatment (flotation tank session), and the back is giving me all sorts of issues at the moment, even more so when temperatures are struggling to hit 40, let alone anything decent!

I know, humans cant do standard hibernation, like some animals can, even if little things like work didnt get in the way! So yes, oh for one of those stasis pod things, where I could be put to sleep until it warms up somewhat, around about May, shall we say? I guess it would be weird sleeping about 4-5 months (or a bit more) away, then just waking up again when the weather has improved sufficiently for old crocks like me? Fine, I’d love it, so if anyone has one laying around that they want to trial on people…? Could miss the chaos of Brexit that way too, another blessing for me! Mind, imagine catching up on events when you did wake up, lol!

I’m sure that in time, something akin to a stasis pod will be created. Lets face it, as things stand, its the only way anyone is going to do genuine deep space travel, is if humans can be put into storage for a number of years. Even Mars is going to be several months, or more, with little for people to do much of the time getting there, so…? As I say, if anyone wants to do early trials on one of those, with a human volunteer, I’m happy to sleep the winter away!

OK, the video is a ‘witty’ moment from me. Lets face it, who would want to spend the night together with an old asexual trans woman like me? I saw a couple of friends bemoaning the lack of partners (in their cases, females, in US), and they’re in a better position than me! They’re younger, interested in a healthy relationship, and not crocked by disability. So yeah, what chance have I got? But equally, if someone is crazy enough to want to set this ‘baby’ up with an apartment, somewhere warm all year round (or warmer), then I’m more than happy to oblige. Hell, I’ll even change my name to Marion Davies, if thats your thing? I’m an actress too, though not in her league.

Video is some very old Rolling Stones, from over 50 years ago. Just enjoy, OK?

Or if someone just wants to send me a nice warm bed/pod to sleep in, I’d love that too!

End of an era?

Sorry for this being a bit brief, and lacking a music video, but I’m trying to get something written up before I head for work today. Just want to say something today though under the circumstances.

The space shuttle has landed safely this morning, for the last time, the end of an era in space travel. Yes, I’m old enough to remember the old Apollo space missions, and as a young child (do I qualify as a young girl?) seeing those famous grainy black and white pictures from the moon. Or somewhere else according to some sceptics, but not me lol. It was the making of history, and I’m glad I saw it, though I suspect memories of that moment are probably a bit hazy as its been on TV a few times since then!

But alright, especially as a youngster, it wasnt so much the pics from the moon that grabbed me as much as the astronaut’s suit, especially the helmet, always thought it must have been great wearing that, though probably very heavy here on Earth. And yes, my image of that has probably been influenced since by pics of cute young girls wearing a tight fitting space suit, and helmet lol! And yes, wanting to be one of them!

You have to remember, I was brought up on the like of Lost In Space, Space 1999, UFO, and of course the 2 familiars, Star Trek and  Dr Who as well. So space travel interested me!

So just wanted to do a quick post to mark this landmark day. If anyone wants a video, go find Walking On The Moon by the Police, it probably would have been the chosen one lol! Will try and add it tonight if I remember after work.

See, I care about you,
