Yes, fine, alright, stop laughing, so I managed to miss (again) where my appointment was yesterday afternoon, but it wasnt my fault, honest it wasnt! More on that shortly…
But firstly, back to Thursday evening…
Actually it was a good, fun evening, which I thoroughly enjoyed, even if you could strictly say I shouldnt have been spending money on something like that, when I’m not actually in work, but hey, a girl has to chill sometimes, so…The fashion show was fun, though in all truth, I’m probably glad I was only watching it, not taking part. Though there were some lovely outfits, but anyway…One thing that did come out of it, beyond wearing a nice dress for the first time, was having my hair styled. No prizes for working out what look! Fine, you want to see, well, OK…
Anyway, then to Friday. Yes, finally managed to get the phone interview with Jet 2 sorted, and I passed! Assessment centre is on Tuesday afternoon, feel free to wish me luck! After that, and signing on at the Job Centre, I headed for Leeds, to register with a recruitment agency. Yes, I knew the address, and yes, I knew where it was, but… I was expecting it to be like the others, an easily recognisable office from the outside, oh dear!
So I walked right past the building, and did a loop of that section of Leeds. Then I specifically looked for the address, and discovered this huge, multi floored building matched the address. So I walked in, and there on the 2nd floor, my goal. Hey, I passed it 15 minutes early, and only got there 3 minutes late in the end!…facepalm!
Then, all duties done, I headed for home. Today has been calmer, beyond picking a few losing horses for a competition I’m in, watching England win in the cricket, and writing a new story for an anthology, its been a calmer day! Oh, and got an email, I actually sold 2 books today!
Fine, the video. Well, you have a choice tonight, or you could play both, I guess? Firstly, the Britney version, if only because of what she’s wearing
Secondly, and the version I would go with, is Post Modern Jukebox bringing out the Marilyn Monroe version of the song
And alright, lastly, the plea for support, so that the picture you have seen is of Stephanie Harlean Carpenter, not Stevie Lou Nicholls. Honest, its the last time I’ll annoy you until nearly the end, so…if you’re feeling generous…
Yes, you must have noticed it, because its on pretty much every form you have to fill in, the gender question, male, or female. In all my time since transitioning (and indeed before then), I only ever remember once seeing any option other than those two. Ironically it was on an application form for a job at a Job Centre, as in working there, I perhaps should say. I’ll be honest, its the only time since transitioning that I’ve put anything other than female, taking the option of transgendered female instead. For whatever reason, I never heard anything back on the application I made! Now, would it have been different if I’d applied as a female, hmm…? I will never know, of course.
But anyway, all my details now in this country, apart from my Passport, say I’m female. Though convincing some at work of the fact is pretty much akin to hitting your head against a brick wall! Some still use the term him, and yes, its got to the point of annoyance by now. Fine, when I first transitioned, I could understand the odd slip, but after all this time, they should be used to it by now. I’m sure some of it is only accidental, but equally there are a few, with whom I’m pretty sure its deliberate, but anyway…Lets just say, that for their sake, they should be grateful that I’m not as militant as some, though maybe I should be? There are even a few, who pretty much just ignore me, because they dont like what I am, and even if I talk to them, in passing, will just ignore me. And they probably wonder why I’m such a tough bitch at times, I need to be! Thankfully there are a lot who accept what I am, treat me as a woman, and I appreciate it.
But now, in India, comes a change, a third legal gender, that of transgendered. And seemingly, in one way of reading it at least, you dont have to have done the ‘full change’ to declare yourself as such. Though in my eye at least (and many others), once you’ve done the full change, you are (in my case at least) female, not transgendered, but anyway…But seriously, being able to declare as a transgendered female now, in terms of passports, if nothing else, would be wonderful, because nothing annoys me more than that one form that still declares me as male!
But as yet, India is the only country I know doing this. The country that actually concerns me the most, is Canada. Why, because built into their rules for passing out of the country, is a line that states you have to match the gender on your passport. It doesnt say anything about going in though, which confuses me even more. So lets see, next year I go on holiday to Toronto, say, and have a lovely week in the country. But when I want to leave, they wont let me! So does that mean they have to provide me with a home, and a means to live, as I cant leave Canada? Or is the case that they wont even let me in? Granted, apart from an obvious pair of boobs, I guess I could still pass without make up, but those 2 assets do make a pretty obvious statement lol! In a sense, I assume they’d let me out (if I was in) because they would prefer me not in the country, but dont quote me on that. And no, I have no plans to have the boobs removed, just to please them! To be honest, I suspect 99% of the time, they dont even look at the gender, just the name, and the face to check they match, and leave it at that, but…
But yes, UK government, a passport that declared me a transgendered female would solve all arguments, so how about it? I wouldnt expect India to be a country leading on this front, but…fine, this wording I could do without, but…
The court directed the government to treat transgenders as a socially and educationally backward class
Because we arent backward in any way, believe me! But someone says this may be to make discrimination illegal, and nothing more, and if so thats fine, I guess?
The video, well I was never strictly a girl, though I might be a lot saner if I had been. And I’m not quite a woman, need one thing removed to be that lol!
No, dont worry, nothing serious, just too much shopping over the years without sorting it out…until today! Facepalm moment lol!
Yes, I had a pile of bags in the corner of my room, some dating back several years that just never got sorted into my clothing collection. Today, rashly, some would say unwisely, I set to the task! Yes, they are all sorted out now, but I have far more tops, blouses etc in my collection than I could ever have imagined. Oh, and several short dresses that at my age, and height, are only ever going to be used as tops, believe me! Err, and a short blue leather (or leather look) skirt that I have no idea when I might wear it, but hey, its a fun item, I kept it. its funny isnt it, I recently found a full length, definitely leather skirt in a charity shop that I’m far more likely to wear. Oh, and I discovered that I have enough skirts to keep me going through the summer too, some of which were hidden, because I never used to wear such things in public, but now…grin! Not sure I’ll be wearing the black leather one to work, all the same. The others though, oh yes! When the weather warms up anyway. Did get a new pair of work shoes today, via Nicole and the Charity shop, but they were needed. Yes, they are heels, but not of the high type lol!
Oh, and I cleaned out the wardrobe too, that was fun. I’ll be honest, its one of these ‘put together’ ones, and the rail gave way under the weight of all the tops I piled on top of it, not blamelessly in the slightest I might add, but…At the bottom, I found a pair of high heels (4″ or so?) that I could just about move about in, but not really walk far, and a pair of stillettos, which I couldnt! Both, along with several other items are now in several bags, heading for a local charity shop that Nicole works in. Quite a lot of it were ‘man things’, a few of which were never worn, a couple still in their wrapping. Yes, thats how long I’ve had some of this stuff, it must date back more than 10 years, eek!
Oh, alright, no, I dont think there is any item of clothing I need in the foreseeable future, but going through with knowing that, when I see a bargain, hmm…? Must resist, must resist,…maybe? 😉
So to the video, and no, I havent got an outfit like this one lol. I know, I know, its Britney, but we all have to suffer at times. Would I have one if you offered? Hmm… Oops, nearly did it again lol!
