The sort of challenge I love!

Do you know what, despite all the hell of job hunting, and everything else this week, I’ve been able to do one thing that was really fun. What can I say, but thanks for the challenge, Andy!

What did he do, you’re asking? Well, the challenge was, for 7 days running, to post an 80’s song to my Facebook page. Sadly, today was the last one. Fine, if you know me at all, I dont go out and pick anything like the 7 most popular songs of that decade, anything but! I’m not actually sure that any of mine actually made the Top 10! I think there were at least 3 that didnt even make the Top 50!

And to be honest, thats what I enjoyed, introducing a few people to songs that may have passed them by! See how many you know, and go check out those you dont!

1 Come Dancing – Kinks
2 Passing Strangers – Ultravox
3 Automatic Lover (’88 Mix) – Dee D Jackson
4 Now Those Days Are Gone – Bucks Fizz
5 Terry – Kirsty McColl
6 Say Hello, Wave Goodbye – Soft Cell
7 Transfer Affection – A Flock Of Seagulls

Yes, fine, number 3 is a cheat, as the original hit was in 1978, but was thankfully re-released, so I was able to include it.

I’ll also say, I could easily have come up with dozens more, but my deed is done. But yes, it was fun, for a week, doing it. I know, no OMD, thats how tough the choice was!

Right, tonight’s video. Only one of those songs was covered, so you’re getting the cover version of that, here. To be honest, you’d be far better off going and finding Kirsty’s, just saying! If for no other reason than the fact it includes a very young, then unknown, Ade Edmondson!

The other challenge I’ve found recently, is that when I’m talking to people by message service online, there are times when I wonder, do they know I’m Trans, or dont they? Earlier this week, I found a message on that dating agency page from someone, that a man had seen my pictures there, and liked the look of me. Fine, I sent her back a reply, saying that did he know I was Trans, but got no reply. So anyway, I sent him a quick note, and then when he replied, telling me all about himself, sent a longer reply, explaining my situation. Not heard a word back, so putting two, and two together, he hadnt spotted that little detail! Mind, as he was in North Carolina, with the way things are there at present, that may be for the best!
